Red Panda

Red panda, even though they have ‘panda’ in their name, they have nothing to do with pandas. They look like cats, have very fluffy and beautiful red hair like foxes, they also have white pattern hair to decorate their coat to make them fit easily to nature. They usually weigh more than 6 kg, 40 to 60 cm long. Their main diet are bamboo and bird eggs. People had taken away their habitat, which caused them to be endangered. Most of them are in the south-west of China, we also can see them in India. T24329058161_96da0a6369_bhis cute animal starting to get endangered, try to save them, and save the world.

Black Rhino

Mother and Baby Black Rhinoceros, Diceros bicornis, Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya, Africa

Black rhinos live in South America and live on a diet of trees and bushes, using their lips to pluck leaves and fruit from the branches. The black rhino is smaller than the white rhino but adults can still reach 1.5 meters high and  1.4 tonnes. Black rhinos have become critically endangered mainly because of poaching. The hunters sell the rhino’s beautiful ivory horn on the black market for around $60,000 per kilogram. Because of the rise in poaching, the rhinos are becoming more and more endangered. The rhino horn is often used for carvings or made into traditional Chinese medicine.

Leatherback Turtles

Marine turtles have been the representatives of a group of reptiles that has existed on Earth and traveled our seas for the last 100 million years. Leatherback turtles consume large amounts of jellyfish which helps to keep populations of these marine organisms in check. Marine turtles, including Leatherbacks, also provide a vital source of income as a draw for ecotourism in coastal communities, especially in the Coral Triangle. Pacific populations have declined over the last twenty years from overharvesting and interactions 6976307331_a80375ed3e_b-1with fisheries. Atlantic leatherbacks, with their long migrations across the ocean, put them at great risk of running into longline fisheries. As Leatherbacks feed almost exclusively on jellyfish it makes them susceptible to mistakenly swallowing plastic bags floating in the ocean, which can kill them.

Giant Panda

There are now 1864 wild pandas in the world, this is much better than 1985 when there were just 1114 wild pandas, but there are still not many of them. Pandas’ main food is bamboo12456893885_fb2499219c_b, one adult panda can eat 40 kilograms of bamboo per day. Because bamboo doesn’t have much energy, in a panda’s day, it uses 13.5 hours to find food, 10 hours for sleeping, and half an hour for playing. Usually pandas just have one baby at a time, the record of a panda’s were triplets in Chengdu, Sichuan.  Wild pandas can live 15-20 years, the record was a panda called Meimei, she was 36 years old, which equals to 100 years old in human’s age. An interesting thing is, pandas are carnivores. Long times ago, pandas were carnivores, after a long time of evolution, even now 99 % of their food are bamboo, but their teeth and digestive tract stayed the same, that’s why scientists still see them as carnivores.

Horse Abuse

hqdefault-1

Tennessee’s ‘Walking Horses’ have been a tradition for years but recently animal rights activists are stating that it’s an act of cruelty. In one case, a  trainer was exposed applying burning liquids and heavy chains to hooves and legs, in a process called ‘soring’ to force the horses to step increasingly higher. Priscilla Presley (Elvis Presley’s wife) tells a news reporter that she was naive about how the horses were made to achieve the ‘Walk Of Shame’. Now, she’s the head of a campaign to stop cruelty to the animals, but she’s up against a powerful industry that denies such abuse.

Golden Eagle

19124847696_3b1e16b98c_b golden eagleThe golden eagle has made a recovery in Scotland. The RSPB said there had been a 15% rise in the last 10 years, when the last survey took place, from 442 to 508 pairs. It is thought Scotland is now home to almost the UK’s entire population of golden eagles. Experts say that the golden eagle, seen by many people as Scotland’s national bird, is recovering to previous historic levels! The Northern Highlands and the central spine of Scotland, between the Great Glen and Stirlingshire, saw the greatest rise in eagle numbers between 2003 and 2015.

Amur Leopards

Leopards are one of the fastest animals in the world. They have nice skin and strong bodies, but they still can’t run away from the human’s desire. People love their skin, which also makes them lose their life.

Amur leopards are the most endangered leopards, there are just less than 70 of them left in the world. They live in a very cold environment, which makes their fur thick and warm, and that’s why people want them.

If people are still killing them, this beautiful animal will disappear from the world.

Animals have right.

Save them, and save us.2555805191_ca12a555c5_b

Lynx Cats

The lynx haunts the forests of North America, Europe and Asia. Lynx are covered with thick fur that keeps them warm in the winters. These cats avoid humans and hunt at night so are rarely seen. There are several species of lynx. Few survive in Europe but those that do, like their Asian relatives, are typically larger than their North American counterpart, the Canada lynx.  All lynx are skilled hunters that make use of great hearing (the tufts on their ears are a hearing aid) and eyesight so strong that a lynx can spot a mouse 250 feet (75 meters) away.  Humans sometimes hunt lynx for their beautiful fur. One endangered population, the Iberian lynx, struggles to survive in the mountains of Spain, far from the cold northern forests where most lynx live.lynx-in-winter-owvg-r
